Regulated market electricity prices will be reduced by 1.9 % as of 1 July. Regulated market supplies 6 million customers in the household category.
Regulated prices of electricity supplied by the suppliers of last resort, which cover 99.9 % of household consumers, will be lower by 1.89 %, compared to the first half of 2020, according to the National Regulatory Authority for Energy (ANRE). In the second half of the year, electricity for household consumption will be supplied by Nuclearelectrica, Hidroelectrica, OMV Petrom and Energy Complex (EC) Oltenia.
ANRE reminded that the period between 1 July and 31 December 2020 will be the last in which regulated electricity prices for household apply. As of 1 January 2021, the market will be completely liberalized, namely residential consumers will enter the free market and will have to choose their own electricity supplier.
