The average price of electricity on day-ahead market of the Romanian energy exchange OPCOM amounted to 202.25 euros/MWh in May 2022, which is 244.3 % higher compared to the same month in 2021 and 16.03 % higher compared to the previous month, when average baseload price amounted to 174.3 euros/MWh.
Traded volume in May reached 2.12 million MWh, which is 10.54 % less than in May 2021 and 5.45 % more than in April 2022. Average traded volume in May 2022 amounted to 2,845.6 MWh/h.
The total value of transactions in May amounted to 436.3 million euros, which is by 208.3 % more compared to May last year (141.5 million euros) and 21.08 % more than in the previous month (360.3 million euros).
The share of day-ahead market in forecasted net consumption in May 2021 amounted to 50.07 %.
A total of 89,999.6 MWh was traded on intraday market in May (27.66 % less than in May 2021, and 17.35 % less compared to April 2022), with an average price of 192.6 euros/MWh (219.7 % higher compared to May 2021 and 10.89 % higher compared to the previous month).
Total traded volume for bilateral contracts with delivery in May amounted to 1.659 million MWh, with an average price of 95.07 euros/MWh.
