The National Authority for Consumer Protection (ANPC) has fined 40 electricity suppliers a total of 100,000 euros for various violations, including issuing bills that did not align with contracts and failing to clearly communicate final prices to consumers. The fines were issued following nationwide inspections conducted between September 23 and October 4 to assess compliance with electricity supply regulations. Out of the 111 companies inspected, 39 were found to be in violation.

In total, ANPC issued 42 fines, along with warnings and corrective actions. These measures included requirements for companies to update their websites and cease unfair commercial practices. Key issues identified during the inspections included the failure to issue bills according to contractual agreements, missing billing period information, unclear pricing, unfair business practices and the failure to issue monthly bills to prosumers.
