Total electricity consumption in North Macedonia in August 2022 amounted to 489,072 MWh, natural gas consumption amounted to 23.04 million cubic meters, coal consumption reached 377,045 tons, while the consumption of petroleum products stood at 113,677 tons.
According to the data from State Statistical Office, 96.6 % of the consumed electricity in August was covered by domestic production, while 99.5 % of the total coal consumption was used for electricity production.
Total net production of electricity in Macedonia in August 2022 stood at 439,028 MWh, which is by 10.8 % lower compared to the same month last year. 237,302 MWh or 54.1 % was produced at thermal power plants (+ 23.5 % compared to August 2021), 90,376 MWh or 20.6 % was produced at hydropower plants (- 29.7 %), 94,429 MWh or 21.5 % in CHP plants (- 40.1 %) and 9,477 MWh or 2.16 % was produced by Bogdanci wind farm.
Production at biogas power plants reached 3,169 MWh, while solar power plants produced 4,276 MWh of electricity in August.
