In July 2020, total electricity consumption in North Macedonia amounted to 546,080 MWh, natural gas consumption amounted to 35.71 million cubic meters, coal consumption reached 427,784 tons, while the consumption of petroleum products stood at 73,959 tons.
According to the data from State Statistical Office, 92.4 % of the consumed electricity in July was covered by domestic production, while 96.6 % of the total coal consumption was used for electricity production. Total net production of electricity in Macedonia in July 2020 stood at 481,329 MWh, which is 3.6 % lower compared to the same month last year. 164,667 MWh or 34.2 % was produced at thermal power plants (- 27 % compared to July 2019), 146,129 MWh or 30.4 % was produced at hydropower plants (+ 45.9 %), 153,511 MWh or 31.9 % in CHP plants and 9,310 MWh or 1.93 % was produced by Bogdanci wind farm.
