According to the Government of North Macedonia, on 21 October, electricity production of coal-fired power plants amounted to 8,737 MWh, with two units of TPP Bitola and TPP Oslomej in operation.
TPP Negotino, which runs on fuel oil, is currently undergoing maintenance and is expected to enter into operation later in the month if the temperatures go down and electricity consumption increases.
In addition, hydropower plants operated by state- owned power utility ESM and Bogdanci wind farm have produced a total of 3,124 MWh of electricity on 21 October.
Therefore, ESM managed to cover the entire electricity consumption of residential and small business consumers in North Macedonia without imports, using only its own production capacities.
