During a visit to the USA, the EPCG delegation led by the President of the Board of Directors Milutin Đukanović and executive director Nikola Rovčanin held meetings in New York with representatives of the host, the American company UGTR and representatives of the international ING bank. In front of the UGTR, the meeting was attended by Mr. Robert Doyle, Chief Financial Officer, while Ms. Gemma Boe, Director of Structured Export Financing, attended in front of ING Bank.
In November last year, representatives of EPCG and the American company UGTR signed a Memorandum of strategic cooperation in the joint development of RES projects, primarily solar energy. UGTR’s partner company is the Korean company Hyndai Engineering.
Đukanović pointed out that cooperation with American companies in the field of energy is of strategic importance not only for EPCG but also for Montenegro itself and the further development of the energy sector. Đukanović added that Montenegro must use its energy potential and that the help of American investors and financial institutions is welcome and can be very significant.
Rovčanin emphasized that the investment of American companies and financial institutions in the energy system of Montenegro significantly increases the rating and importance of the country’s economy and raises the level of the overall investment climate.
Mrs. Gemma Boe underlined that in addition to full commitment to the financing of projects that EPCG and UGTR jointly plan, including the construction of the Velje Brdo solar power plant, ING Bank, as an international bank that actively operates in all OECD member countries, is also interested in cooperation on other projects that EPCG is developing in the field of renewable energy sources.
ING Bank is a global bank that operates in over 40 countries around the world with 37 million clients and over 60,000 employees with headquarters in Amsterdam and a representative office in New York, whose shares are listed on the stock exchanges in Amsterdam, New York and Brussels.
In the period from September 11 to 14, at the invitation of the American partner company UGTR, representatives of EPCG will participate in one of the largest energy fairs in the world and the largest fair in the field of renewable energy sources in America – Solar power international 2023.
