The Montenegrin Government has approved a decision to grant a €10 million loan from the country’s Investment and Development Fund (IDF) to state-owned power utility EPCG for its Solari project. The loan, which carries a 4% interest rate and has an eight-year repayment period with a two-year grace period, will support the expansion of the Solari 5000+ initiative.
The Solari 5000+ project aims to deploy solar systems for households and businesses across Montenegro, with a total planned capacity of 70 MW. The project’s maximum value is set at €82 million, with the goal of promoting renewable energy and reducing electricity costs. To date, approximately 11.27 MW of solar capacity has already been installed under the project.
