Montenegro: EPCG Solar Construction accelerates solar capacity growth with major installations in summer 2025

EPCG Solar Construction reported a notable increase in solar capacity additions during June and July 2025, installing a total of 6.7 megawatts (MW) of new capacity. This marks a significant rise compared to the 5.2 MW added during the same period last year.

The company attributes the growth to rising demand from corporate, institutional, and commercial customers who are increasingly turning to on-site solar power systems to reduce energy costs and minimize environmental impact. Among this summer’s key projects were a 300 kW system installed at the Sutjeska stadium, a 130 kW installation at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, an 80 kW system at the Berane wastewater treatment plant, and a 50 kW array at the Rozaje Sports Center.

Significant progress is also being made at the Niksic steel mill complex, where approximately 9.5 MW of solar capacity has been installed to date. Around 1.5 MW of that total was added during the summer months. Preparations are currently underway for a 2.5 MW solar project on the Slano lake dam, while work is ongoing at the Vrtac dam, where 1.8 MW of a planned 3 MW has already been completed.
