Montenegro’s Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) said it has received a request from local company Green Energy Provider to conduct an environmental impact assessment (EIA) of a project for the construction of a 100 MW solar photovoltaic power plant.
The power plant, to be built in the central municipality of Niksic, will span 106,285 hectares, according to project documents published on the EPA’s website last week.
According to the Montenegrin business registry, Green Energy Provider is owned by private individuals Arkadiusz Szczepanski and Marius Szymanski, who control 45% of its equity capital each, and Aleksandar Dundjer, who owns the remaining 10%. The company was established in January 2023.
