North Macedonian Ministry of Economy has launched the country’s first auction for large-scale solar power projects.
Interested investors can apply for solar power plant projects with an installed capacity of 10 MW, 5 MW, 2 MW and 1 MW until 5 October. Total capacity offered amounts to 80 MW. Projects could be built on private or public land for which the right of use has been established.
The auction’s winners will be granted a 15-year power purchase agreement and will be paid a feed -in premium tariff on top of the electricity price.
The award criterion is the lowest fixed premium. Participants are obligated to provide a guaranteeof 50 euros per kW of planned installed capacity of the photovoltaic plants
