The total net production of electricity in Macedonia in April 2023 reached 562,783 MWh. That is 31% higher compared to the same month last year, according to the data from State Statistical Office. 253,264 MWh or 45% was produced at the thermal power plant, 148,135 MWh was produced at hydropower plants, 138,894 MWh in CHP plants and 14,447 MWh was produced by the Bogdanci wind farm. Production at biogas power plants was 5,188 MWh, while solar power plants produced 2,854 MWh of electricity in April.
Total electricity consumption in North Macedonia in April amounted to 575,829 MWh, natural gas consumption amounted to 35.9 million cubic meters, coal consumption reached 461,047 tons, and the consumption of petroleum products stood at 93,326 tons.
100 % of the consumed electricity in April was covered by domestic production and 99% of the total coal consumption was used for electricity production.
