The average annual price on the Hungarian day-ahead electricity market HUPX increased in 2022 by 139 percent compared to the previous year, from 113.9 euros per MWh to 272 euros per MWh, according to the annual report of the exchange operator.
In the same period, the price for peak load increased by 129 percent, from 126 euros per MWh to 288.6 euros per MWh. The highest hourly price in 2022 was 1047.1 euros per MWh.
The volume of trade on the day-ahead market decreased by 3 percent year-on-year, to 27,081 GWh, while the average daily volume was 86,095 MWh, also by 3 percent less compared to 2021.
The total volume of trade on the HUPX spot market increased by 3 percent in 2022, to 31,425 GWh.
The volume of trading on the intraday market increased by 71 percent, from 2,529 GWh in 2021 to 4,319 GWh in 2022. The average daily volume also increased by the same percentage, from 6,929 MWh to 11,833 MWh. The highest daily volume last year was 21,432 MWh.
The average hourly price of IDM was 276 euros per MWh, which is 135 percent more than the previous year. The price for the 15-minute settlement was 263.6 euros per MWh (+133 percent), and for the block product 242.5 euros per MWh (+196 percent).
