The third standalone energy storage auction has garnered significant attention from investors, with nearly 40 applications submitted by the 27 January deadline. Leading players in Greece’s domestic energy market have proposed a combined total capacity of 200 MW.

This auction focuses on projects in specific geographic areas, namely the northern region of West Macedonia and the Peloponnese. The Energy Regulatory Authority (RAAEY) will now review the applications, with the evaluation process expected to be completed by early March. Provisional results are set to be released on 6 March, and the final results will follow on 13 March.

Each applicant was limited to submitting a maximum of 50 MW per project.
