Greece, Terna Energy has obtained approval for the installation of 53.7 MW battery storage system

Greek energy company Terna Energy has obtained approval for the installation of 53.7 MW battery storage system at its 22.1 MW solar project in Thessaly.

The Regulatory Authority for Energy (RAE) issued a permit, which is valid for 25 years, namely until 2047. The company obtained the approval for the construction of the solar power plant in August 2022, but did not disclosed any details regarding the project’s timetable.

At the end of September 2022, Terna Energy had 895,3 MW of renewable power plants in operation and 1,234 MW of wind, solar, hydro and energy storage projects under construction.
