A total of seven companies have expressed non- binding interest in the participation of a tender for procurement and installation of smart electricity meters, launched by the Greek electricity distribution system operator DEDDIE.
DEDDIE recently launched a new tender procedure, after the first one, launched over eight years ago, was repeatedly delayed due to legal issues between the participants.
The seven companies that have expressed non- binding interest at the new tender are: US Itron, Swiss Landis+Gyr; German Elster Honeywell, local company Protasis, acting as a representative of French company Sagemcom; Slovenian Iskraemeco; Gridspertise, a part of the Italian Enel Group and Intrasoft International, a part of the Danish Netcompany Group.
The project, envisaging the installation some 7.5 million smart electricity meters in Greece, is expected to be completed in 2030 with the budget estimated at 830 million euros.
