Since the new rules were introduced last December, the number of applications received during a single application period, exceeds a number of applications previously received over the course of more than a year.
During the latest period opened for RES producer certificate application between 1 and 10 June, the Regulatory Authority for Energy recorded huge interest in renewable energy projects in Greece, by receiving more than 700 application for a total of 17.3 GW of installed capacity.
Among these, solar projects were accounted for 12.7 GW, while the remaining 4.1 GW represented wind projects.
The level of investors’ interest significantly exceeds that in the previous application period in February, which attracted a total of 477 RES producer certificate applications, representing 8.86 GW of installed capacity.
