Greece: PPC continues to increase retail electricity market share in July

According to data released by Greek electricity transmission system operator ADMIE, the state-controlled Public Power Corporation (PPC) increased its retail electricity market share for the third consecutive month in July, reaching 54.18%.

Among the independent electricity suppliers, Mytilineos led with a market share of 14.54%, followed by Heron at 10.22%, and Elpedison at 5.53%.

Electricity consumption in July 2024 saw a 4.58% increase compared to the same period last year, totaling 5,783 GWh. Additionally, electricity generation in the country surged by 19% year-on-year, with renewable energy sources contributing 52.8% to the energy mix during the month.
