Greece: Gastrade restarts Alexandroupoli LNG terminal at reduced capacity

Gastrade has resumed unloading and regasification operations at the Alexandroupoli LNG terminal, though at a reduced capacity. Daily regasification is currently limited to up to 45.4 GWh/day, supported by backup high-pressure pumps that cover only 25% of the terminal’s nominal gasification capacity.

The capacity cap is expected to be lifted at the start of the new gas year on 1 October 2025, although minor operational constraints may remain temporarily. Operations were halted in late January following a technical failure that damaged the FSRU’s booster pumps. The operator had initially aimed for a mid-August restart at reduced capacity.
