The Ministry of Energy will continue to support electricity consumers in August, with an amount of 19 million euros.
The subsidies for electricity for residential consumers for monthly consumptions up to 500 kilowatt-hours, will amount to 10 euros/MWh. This category includes 9% of households in Greece.
Consumers with a monthly consumption of more than 500 kWh are entitled to the same support if they reduce their average daily energy consumption by 15% compared to last year.
For vulnerable residential consumers, the aid amounts to 50 euros/MWh and absorbs the entire increased cost.
For farmers, regardless of the voltage level, the aid amounts to 10 euros/MWh.
It is expected that the Ministry will extend the energy subsidies for residential consumers until the end of the year. The measures were intended to remain in force until the end of September, but now, an extension until the end of 2023 seems possible.
