North Macedonian Government announced that the European Union has provided a grant in the amount of 80 million euros in order to help the country combat the ongoing energy crisis.

The statement from the Government said that the funding will support electricity subsidies for citizens, incentives for small and medium-sized enterprises and state investments in renewable energy and energy efficiency aimed at speeding up the country’s energy transition.

The Government is currently subsidizing electricity bills for socially vulnerable citizens as part of a package worth 760 million euros to help citizens cope with the energy and economic crisis.
