During the week of November 4, solar photovoltaic energy production increased in the Iberian Peninsula compared to the previous week. Spain saw the largest rise, with production increasing by 21%, while in Portugal, the increase was 1.1%. In contrast, production in other major European markets decreased. The German market experienced the biggest drop, falling by 40%, continuing its downward trend for the fourth consecutive week. The Italian and French markets also saw declines, dropping by 23% and 24%, respectively, AleaSoft reports.
On November 6, both the Spanish and Portuguese markets set solar photovoltaic energy production records for the 11th month of the year. Spain reached its highest-ever daily production for November, generating 109 GWh, while Portugal reached its second-highest value, with 13 GWh, just behind the record set the previous week.
Looking ahead to the week of November 11, AleaSoft Energy Forecasting’s solar production forecasts predict increases in both the German and Spanish markets, while a decrease in solar energy production is expected in Italy.
For the first week of November, wind energy production decreased across all major European markets compared to the previous week. The French market saw the smallest change, with a drop of 13%, continuing its downward trend for the sixth consecutive week. After increases in the previous week, Italy, the Iberian Peninsula, and Germany all saw declines. The Italian market registered a 28% drop, while Portugal and Spain saw decreases of 33% and 37%, respectively. The German market experienced the largest decline, with a 61% drop.
For the second week of November, AleaSoft Energy Forecasting predicts increases in wind energy production across all major European markets, AleaSoft reports.
