In the week of October 21, solar photovoltaic energy production saw an increase in most major European markets compared to the previous week. The Portuguese market experienced the largest rise at 30%, while the Italian market had a modest increase of just 0.2%. Spain and France reported increases of 15% and 16%, respectively, AleaSoft reports.
This marked the second consecutive week of growth for the Iberian Peninsula markets, while the French and Italian markets reversed their downward trends after declines over the last two and three weeks, respectively. However, the German market was an exception, with solar production falling by 10%, continuing the trend from the previous week.
The Portuguese market also set three records for solar energy production during the week. On October 21, it achieved its third-highest production value for October at 15 GWh. The following two days saw the first and second highest values for the month, each approaching 16 GWh.
Looking ahead, AleaSoft Energy Forecasting predicts an increase in solar energy production in Italy during the week of October 28, while production is expected to decrease in Spain and Germany.
