CROPEX was launched on March 11, 2016, in partnership with Nord Pool, Europe’s leading electricity exchange. It is co-owned by the Croatian electricity transmission system operator (HOPS) and the Croatian electricity market operator (HROTE). The intraday market began in April 2017. On June 19, 2018, CROPEX’s day-ahead market was successfully coupled with the MRC markets through the Croatian-Slovenian border as part of a joint project by Croatian and Slovenian transmission system operators and power exchanges.
