Croatia: Statkraft expands renewable energy footprint with 750 MW solar projects

Norwegian Statkraft, Europe’s largest renewable energy producer, has announced significant growth in its operations in Croatia, underscored by a robust pipeline of development projects. The company currently has over 750 MW of solar power capacity in development, demonstrating its strong commitment to the Croatian market.

As a pioneer in hydropower, Statkraft is the leading producer of renewable energy in Europe, with a diverse portfolio that includes hydropower, wind energy, solar energy, gas power, and district heating services. The company operates in more than 20 countries, establishing its presence in Croatia in 2021.

Recently, Statkraft strengthened its project development capacity in Croatia by acquiring Neoen’s local operations and projects. Country Manager Arnaud Bellanger highlighted that the 750 MW of solar projects are in various stages of permitting, setting the stage for continued growth in the country’s renewable energy sector in the coming years.
