Croatian company Solida Group is developing the first agrosolar project in Croatia. The project combines the production of electricity from renewable sources with livestock farming. The power plant will be located in northern Croatia and it represents an innovative solution that will utilize large surfaces for energy production while enabling livestock grazing.
The planned installed capacity of the power plant is 15 MW while the investment is worth 10 million euros. The construction works are planned to be completed by mid-2024. The power plant will generate enough electricity to cover the needs of over 5,000 households.
Owner of Solida Group Dubravko Posavec said that the company plans to keep 200 sheep on the plant’s premises. The solar panel modules will be elevated one meter above the ground to allow the sheep to graze beneath and between the panels.
Solida Group already owns a network of 30 solar power plants in the region.
