Net electricity production in Croatia in January 2020 amounted to 1,162GWh. This is 3.3 % lower compared to January last year, when the production amounted to 1,201 GWh, according to short-term indicators of energy statistics published by Croatian Bureau of Statistics. During January, 565 GWh of electricity or 48.6 % was produced in hydropower plants, 395 GWh or 34 % was produced in thermal power plants, while wind farms produced 121 GWh or 10.4 % of total produced electricity. During this period, Croatia imported 918 GWh of electricity, which is 15.1 % less compared to last January (1,082 GWh), while electricity exports stood at 413 GWh, 25.3 % less than in January 2019 (553 GWh). Regarding hydrocarbon production, Croatia produced 84 million cubic meters of natural gas in January 2019, 18.5 % less compared to January last year. Natural gas imports stood at 184 million cubic meters, 7.6 % more than in January 2019. Crude oil production stood at 52,000 tons, which is 10.3 % lower compared to the same month last year. Production of petroleum products stood at 30,000 tons in January 2019, compared to 24,000 tons produced in the same month last year.
