Croatian food producer Podravka has successfully completed a €5 million investment in rooftop solar panels, aligning with its sustainability goals. In 2024, the company installed 9,158.2 kW of solar capacity, which is projected to generate approximately 9,131,310 kWh annually.

The new solar panels have been placed on rooftops across several of Podravka’s facilities, including those in Koprivnica and Varazdin in northern Croatia, as well as Dugopolje in the south and Maribor in Slovenia. This initiative was partially financed by the European Union’s Modernization Fund, which assists 13 member states in enhancing energy systems and improving efficiency to meet energy targets.

With this latest installation, Podravka’s total solar capacity has reached 12,995.2 kW, contributing to a reduction of over 2,000 tons of CO2 emissions each year. Looking to the future, Podravka plans to develop a solar power plant at its newly established logistics and distribution center in Koprivnica next year, furthering its commitment to renewable energy.
