According to short-term indicators of energy statistics published by Croatian Bureau of Statistics, net electricity production in Croatia in October 2021 amounted to 1,119 GWh, which is 17.4 % lower compared to October last year, when the production amounted to 1,354 GWh.
During October, 307 GWh of electricity or 27.4 % was produced in hydropower plants, 487 GWh or 43.5 % was produced in thermal power plants, while wind farms produced 228 GWh or 20.4 % of total produced electricity. During this period, Croatia imported 982 GWh of electricity, 16.8 % more compared to last October (841 GWh), while electricity exports stood at 580 GWh, 22.2 % lower compared to October 2020 (745 GWh).
Regarding hydrocarbon production, Croatia produced 63 million cubic meters of natural gas in October 2021, 13.7 % less compared to October last year. Natural gas imports stood at 202 million cubic meters, 2.5 % more than in October 2020. Crude oil production stood at 47,000 tons, which is 2.1 % lower compared to the same month last year. Production of petroleum products stood at 297,000 tons in October 2021, compared to 290,000 tons in the same month last year.
