According to short-term indicators of energy statistics published by Croatian Bureau of Statistics, net electricity production in Croatia in May 2022 amounted to 914 GWh, which is 11.7 % lower compared to May last year, when the production amounted to 1,035 GWh.
During May, 346 GWh of electricity or 37.9 % was produced in hydropower plants, 350 GWh or 38.3 % was produced in thermal power plants, while wind farms produced 125 GWh or 13.7 % of total produced electricity. During this period, Croatia imported 976 GWh of electricity, 6.4 % more compared to last May (917 GWh), while electricity exports stood at 492 GWh, 11.5 % less compared to May 2021 (556 GWh).
Regarding hydrocarbon production, Croatia produced 63 million cubic meters of natural gas in May 2022, 8.7 % less compared to May last year. Natural gas imports stood at 238 million cubic meters, 89 % more than in May 2021. Crude oil production stood at 44,000 tons, 6.4 % less compared to May last year. Production of petroleum products stood at 307,000 tons in May 2022, compared to 332,000 tons in the same month last year.
