Croatia, Net electricity production in Croatia in January 2023 amounted to 1,637 GWh

According to short-term indicators of energy statistics published by Croatian Bureau of Statistics, net electricity production in Croatia in January 2023 amounted to 1,637 GWh, which is 8.3 % higher compared to January last year, when the production amounted to 1,512 GWh.

During January, 853 GWh of electricity or 52.1 % was produced in hydropower plants, 423 GWh or 25.8 % was produced in thermal power plants, while wind farms produced 259 GWh or 15.8 % of total produced electricity.

During this period, Croatia imported 920 GWh of electricity, 0.4 % more compared to last January (916 GWh), while electricity exports stood at 911 GWh, 27.2 % more compared to January 2022 (716 GWh).

Regarding hydrocarbon production, Croatia produced 61 million cubic meters of natural gas in January 2023, the same as last January. Natural gas imports stood at 176 million cubic meters, 15 % less than in January 2022.

Crude oil production stood at 45,000 tons, 8.2 % less compared to the same month last year. Production of petroleum products stood at 11,000 tons in January 2023, compared to 10,000 tons in the same month last year, due to overhaul at Rijeka refinery.
