According to short-term indicators of energy statistics published by Croatian Bureau of Statistics, net electricity production in Croatia in February 2022 amounted to 1,185 GWh, which is 28.8 % lower compared to February last year, when the production amounted to 1,664 GWh.
During February, 465 GWh of electricity or 39.2 % was produced in hydropower plants, 447 GWh or 37.7 % was produced in thermal power plants, while wind farms produced 187 GWh or 15.8 % of total produced electricity. During this period, Croatia imported 872 GWh of electricity, 9.9 % less compared to last February (968 GWh), while electricity exports stood at 550 GWh, 40 % less compared to February 2021 (916 GWh).
Regarding hydrocarbon production, Croatia produced 56 million cubic meters of natural gas in February 2022, 8.2 % less compared to February last year. Natural gas imports stood at 195 million cubic meters, 3.7 % more than in February 2021. Crude oil production stood at 42,000 tons, approximately the same as in February last year. Production of petroleum products stood at just 12,000 tons in February 2022, compared to 16,000 tons in the same month last year.
