According to short-term indicators of energy statistics published by Croatian Bureau of Statistics, net electricity production in Croatia in August 2022 amounted to 1,047 GWh, which is 4.7 % higher compared to August last year, when the production amounted to 1,000 GWh.
During August, 251 GWh of electricity or 24 % was produced in hydropower plants, 497 GWh or 47.5 % was produced in thermal power plants, while wind farms produced 208 GWh or 19.9 % of total produced electricity. During this period, Croatia imported 989 GWh of electricity, 6.3 % less compared to last August (1,055 GWh), while electricity exports stood at 413 GWh, 1 % more compared to August 2021 (409 GWh).
Regarding hydrocarbon production, Croatia produced 65 million cubic meters of natural gas in August 2022, the same as in August last year.
Natural gas imports stood at 387 million cubic meters, 97.5 % more than in August 2021. Crude oil production stood at 47,000 tons, the same as in August last year. Production of petroleum products stood at 350,000 tons in August 2022, compared to 308,000 tons in the same month last year.
