Swiss-based MET Group, along with its Croatian subsidiary MET Croatia Energy Trade, has marked a significant milestone with the arrival of the 100th LNG shipment at the Krk LNG Terminal. This achievement underscores MET Group’s pivotal role in enhancing energy security for both Croatia and the broader European region.
Since the Krk terminal’s inception, MET Group has been instrumental in delivering numerous LNG shipments, contributing to a reliable and diversified energy supply. Mario Matkovic, CEO of MET Croatia Energy Trade, expressed pride in reaching this milestone. “The 100th delivery, along with our initial ‘zero’ ship, lays a strong foundation for the terminal’s future operations,” he said. “We are honored to be a leading contributor to this crucial project, providing dependable energy solutions to both end customers and the wholesale market.”
Matkovic highlighted MET Group’s ongoing commitment to the Croatian energy sector, emphasizing their lease of significant regasification capacities at the Krk LNG Terminal through October 2032. This long-term lease reflects the company’s dedication to supporting economic development and maintaining a key role in the region’s energy landscape.
