Traded volume in March 2020 was 46.3 % higher compared to the same month last year. A total volume of 504,513.1 MWh of electricity was traded on the Croatian energy exchange CROPEX in March 2020, which is 8.2 % less than in February, of which 481,633.3 MWh on the day-ahead market and 22,879.8 MWh on the intraday market.Average daily base price on day-ahead market in March amounted to 29.41 euros/MWh, which is 25.8 % lower than in the previous month, while average euro-peak price reached 31.98 euros/MWh, 26.6 % lower compared to the previous month. The average price on the intraday market was 28.16 euros/MWh (- 32 %). There are 20 participants on CROPEX day-ahead market, twelve of which have been active on the intraday market as well. Average daily traded volume on the day-ahead market in March amounted to 15,536.6 MWh. CROPEX was launched on 11 March 2016 in cooperation with Nord Pool, Europe’s leading electricity exchange, and is co-owned by the Croatian electricity transmission system operator (HOPS) and the Croatian electricity market operator (HROTE). Intraday market was launched in April 2017. On 19 June last year, after joint project of Croatian and Slovenian transmission system operators and power exchanges, CROPEX day ahead market was successfully coupled with MRC markets through Croatian – Slovenian border.
