Since its commissioning three and a half years ago, the liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal in Omisalj on the island of Krk has delivered 8 billion cubic meters of natural gas to the Croatian gas transmission system.

The Krk LNG terminal, which began operations on January 29, 2021, was launched alongside the Zlobin – Omisalj gas pipeline. According to LNG Hrvatska, the terminal’s operator, its construction has significantly enhanced Croatia’s natural gas supply security. The terminal has enabled Croatia to import natural gas from global sources, diversifying its supply options compared to before the terminal was built.
