Croatian state-owned oil transportation company JANAF has signed oil transportation and storage contracts with Hungarian oil and gas company MOL. Deals took several months of negotiations, JANAF said in a statement. This will guarantee a safe supply of crude oil for refineries in Hungary and Slovakia, confirming the strategic status of the JANAF oil pipeline in the region.
The contracts were signed with MOL subsidiary Moltrade Mineralimpex Trading and, for the first time, with MOL’s Slovak oil refiner Slovnafta.
JANAF will transport 2.9 million tons of crude oil for MOL while storing 79,385 cubic meters of crude oil at the Omisalj terminal on the island of Krk, as well as 70,000 cubic meters of crude oil at the Sisak terminal, according to signed contracts.
