Net electricity production in Croatia in February 2020 amounted to 1,052 GWh, which is 3.8 % lower compared to February last year, when the production amounted to 1,093 GWh. During February, 396 GWh of electricity or 37.6 % was produced in hydropower plants, 447 GWh or 42.5 % was produced in thermal power plants, while wind farms produced 133 GWh or 12.6 % of total produced electricity – according to short-term indicators of energy statistics published by Croatian Bureau of Statistics.
During this period, Croatia imported 851 GWh of electricity, approximately the same as last February (846 GWh), while electricity exports stood at 423 GWh, 6.4 % less than in February 2019 (454 GWh). Regarding hydrocarbon production, Croatia produced 78 million cubic meters of natural gas in February 2019, 14.3 % less compared to February last year. Natural gas imports stood at 160 million cubic meters, 10.3 % more than in February 2019. Crude oil production stood at 48,000 tons, which is 7.7 % lower compared to the same month last year. Production of petroleum products stood at 31,000 tons in February 2019, compared to 72,000 tons produced in the same month last year.
