A 36-kilometer section of the Zabok–Lucko main gas pipeline will be constructed by a consortium led by Monter-Strojarske Montaze on a turnkey basis, with the project valued at 51.8 million euros. This initiative is part of Croatia’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan and is funded by the European Union through the NextGenerationEU program. The investor behind the project is Plinacro, the state-owned natural gas transmission system operator. The selected bid is approximately 10 million euros higher than the initial estimate of 41.9 million euros.

The planned pipeline will span 36 kilometers, passing through Krapina-Zagorje County, Zagreb County, and the city of Zagreb. It will largely follow the path of the existing gas pipeline corridor, serving cities such as Zabok, Oroslavje, Zaprešić, and Sveta Nedelja, as well as municipalities like Jakovlje and Bistra. The scope of work includes significant infrastructure tasks, such as laying an optical communication system along the pipeline, constructing new block stations, expanding existing gas nodes, and reconstructing related pipelines.

At the Lucko gas hub, the project will also incorporate advanced technological systems, including a transmitter-receiver station, gas collectors, and monitoring and control systems.

The construction project is expected to be completed within 15 months from the contractor’s commencement date. Two bids were submitted for the public tender, but the proposal from the Turkish company Vemak İnsaat Taahhut Makina Sanayi ve Ticaret was rejected due to non-compliance, as they failed to submit the required original bid guarantee within the specified timeframe.
