E.On and pharmaceutical company Pliva inaugurated a solar power plant at Pliva’s production site in Savski Marof in Croatia. This is the most powerful solar power plant in the country, with an installed capacity of 9.71 MW. It will cover 30% of the company’s annual energy needs at the location.
Pliva and E.ON worked on this joint project for the past year. The project was financed through a power purchasing agreement (PPA). The investment amount was not disclosed.
The power plant consists of over 17,800 solar panels. It will enable Pliva to achieve energy savings of over 20% annually. Also, it will contribute to achieving the sustainable goals of Croatia and the EU.
Pliva expects to reduce its carbon footprint by a third before 2030.
