Energy trader WIEE Bulgaria is on the list of 31 Western companies with which Russia has stopped all economic activities.
WIEE Bulgaria is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Swiss company Gazprom Schweiz. Its main activity is the purchase and wholesale distribution of natural gas, all other types of gases and solid fuels. According to the company’s most recent annual report available, its revenues rose by 61% year-on-year to 1.44 million euros in 2019, while its net profit amounted to some 90,000 euros in 2019. Russian sanctions also affect the company’s subsidiaries in Romania and Hungary.
