Solaris Holding, a joint venture between German solar developer Sunotec and Eurohold Bulgaria, has officially commissioned a hybrid solar power plant located near Pernik. This facility features a 32 MW solar power generation capacity paired with a 61 MWh energy storage system.

Constructed on the site of a former steel mill landfill, the power plant spans 31 hectares and is equipped with 56,889 solar panels. It is projected to generate sufficient electricity to power approximately 10,200 households, while also contributing to a significant reduction in harmful emissions by an estimated 15,847 tons annually.

The project received financing from Bulgarian DSK Bank and German Varengold Bank. Energy storage batteries were provided by Chinese technology giant Huawei, and the produced electricity will be managed by electricity trader Electrohold Trade.
