Bulgarian public electricity supplier NEK said that its is unable to announce the prices at which it plans to sell electricity to end-users after 1 July 2022, due to market liberalization.
The statement from the company said that the law requires NEK to make public the price changes which it intends to introduce for the services it is licensed to provide in the next regulatory period, which, in this case, starts on 1 July. However, the liberalization of the electricity market has left some uncertainties about the functions which the public supplier will perform after 1 July.
NEK does not have complete information about the price components to be used in the next regulatory period. Therefore, it cannot forecast the electricity prices for the next period.
