The Bulgarian Commission for Energy and Water Regulation approved a 6% increase in the wholesale natural gas price for September, the same as the proposal by public supplier Bulgargaz.
The wholesale price would amount to 32.4 euros per MWh, excluding VAT and excise duty. Previously, KEVR approved a 1.4% decrease in the wholesale natural gas price for August.
KEVR said in a statement that the TTF index exceeded 44 euros per MWh in recent weeks, despite a drop in the last days of August, and that has directly affected the endorsed natural gas price for this month.
The price mix for September includes the whole amount of contracted Azeri gas, which will be delivered through the Greece-Bulgaria interconnector and will cover 52.5% of the country’s consumption in September.
Bulgargaz has also awarded contracts for liquefied natural gas (LNG) delivery to two traders from the region after public tenders.
