Power utility Electrohold, a subsidiary of insurance group Eurohold Bulgaria, plans to build a 100 MW solar power plant near Stara Zagora. The project is worth around 100 million euros.
The project company is Belozem Solar Park 2, a joint venture of Eurohold Bulgaria and renewables developer 360 Energy.
Construction of the power plant is expected to begin by the end of this year, with completion estimated for the middle of 2024.
Earlier in late June, Electrohold commissioned the largest solar power plant in Bulgaria – the 123 MW Verila solar power plant. Through it, Electrohold Trade will supply the telecommunications company Yettel and the telecommunications equipment company CETIN with green energy for the next 10 years, after the two parties signed a power purchase agreement (PPA).
The installed capacity of Verila solar power plant represents 7% of the total capacity built so far in this segment in the country. Up to 1,800 MW of solar capacity has been installed in Bulgaria.
