According to the data published by Bulgarian electricity transmission system operator ESO, production of electricity in Bulgaria in the period between 1 January and 17 November 2019 has decreased by 3.38 % compared to the same period in 2018 and reached 38.37 TWh.
On the other hand, Bulgaria‟s electricity consumption rose in the same period, by 0.58 % reaching a total of 33.11 TWh. Meanwhile, electricity exports dropped by 22.56 % in the same period to 5.26 TWh. The share of electricity produced from renewable energy sources (RES) in the transmission network dropped by 1.67 % to 1,051.5 GWh, while RES share in the country‟s distribution network increased by 10.57 % to 1,643.7 GWh.
