According to the data published by Bulgarian electricity transmission system operator ESO, production of electricity in Bulgaria in the period between 1 January and 15 September 2019 has decreased by 1.58 % compared to the same period in 2018 and reached 31.3 TWh.
On the other hand, Bulgaria’s electricity consumption rose in the same period, by 1.41 % reaching a total of 26.99 TWh. Meanwhile, electricity exports dropped by 16.92 % in the same period to 4.31 TWh.
The share of electricity produced from renewable energy sources (RES) in the transmission network rose by 0.22 % to 871.2 GWh, while RES share in the country’s distribution network increased by 13.31 % to 1,365.2 GWh.
