According to the data published by Bulgarian electricity transmission system operator ESO, production of electricity in Bulgaria in the period between 1 January and 5 May 2019 has increased by 6.23 % compared to the same period in 2018 and reached 16.86 TWh.
Bulgaria‘s electricity consumption also rose in the same period, by 1.98 % reaching a total of 14.53 TWh. Electricity exports increased by 43.77 % in the same period to 2.32 TWh.
The share of electricity produced from renewable energy sources (RES) in the transmission network increased by 2.14 % to 444.2 GWh, while RES share in the country‘s distribution network increased by 16.38 % to 646.3 GWh.
