Gas supplier Bulgargaz has proposed a higher wholesale natural gas price for December. The company said that the price for December should be 7.5% higher compared to the price approved for November (42 euros/MWh). The initial proposal from mid-November envisaged a 7.9% price increase.
Chairman of the Commission for Energy and Water Regulation (KEVR), Ivan Ivanov, said that the TTF daily futures rate has decreased, but this can create false expectations because Bulgargaz’s calculations are based on the monthly quotes.
European gas prices are not rising despite the cold weather, because gas storage facilities across Europe are full and small amounts are being pumped out.
