The average electricity price for base load in December 2022 on the day-ahead market (DAM) of the Independent Bulgarian Stock Exchange IBEX was 246.77 euros per MWh, which is 12% more than in November – 220.14 euros per MWh, according to the monthly report of the stock exchange operator.
The price for peak load at DAM also increased in December, by 21%, from 258.47 euros per MWh in November to 312.48 euros per MWh.
The maximum hourly price in the previous month was 708.58 euros per MWh, and the minimum price was 0.17 euros per MWh.
At the same time, the total volume of trade on IBEX DAM increased by 2%, to 3,323 million MWh, while the average daily volume decreased by 1%, to 74,921 MWh.
The weighted average intraday market (IDM) IBEX price increased by 12%, from EUR 211.48 per MWh in November to EUR 237.13 per MWh in December.
The total volume at IDM in December was 185,635 MWh, which is 49% more compared to 124,504 MWh in November, according to the IBEX monthly report.
In a separate statement from the stock exchange operator, it is emphasized that this represents the highest monthly volume since the launch of the stock exchange in 2018.
